A.J. Mac Electrical Contractors was founded in 1987 by Art McAleer, a Master Electrician. The company was operated out of the McAleer family basement until the company outgrew its surroundings.

In early 2002, after continued success, the company added a Plumbing and Heating division led by Paul Capone. A.J. Mac moved to its location on Rt. 3A in Hudson, in 2006, where it operates today.
